Hello, I’m Emily Climer – just like a mountain climber, but without the "b." Born and raised in a small town in Michigan, my passion for cosmetology began in high school. With 22 years of experience in the industry, I am thrilled to help newly licensed stylists navigate their first year with confidence and success.
My journey hasn't been without its challenges, but each step has taught me invaluable lessons. In fact, I was practically fired from my first job in a salon after making a mistake. Although it was a tough experience, it set me on a path of growth and resilience. I moved on to chain salons, where I loved the team connection and culture that laid the foundation for my career.
When my dad moved to Las Vegas, I saw an exciting opportunity and decided to make the leap. Transitioning to a new city was both challenging and rewarding. I quickly realized the importance of finding the right environment and took bold steps to improve my situation. Through my dad's network, I found a new salon, and while it wasn't perfect, it taught me entrepreneurship and the importance of hard work.
Determined to succeed, I embraced the power of self-marketing using social platforms. My dedication paid off when my mentor, Jenny, introduced me to Redken certification. This decision transformed my career, allowing me to double my sales and outgrow my salon. With Jenny, I co-created a Redken-focused salon studio that emphasized education, setting the stage for future growth.
As my vision expanded, I moved into a single suite, working diligently and renting out my space on off days. My business flourished, leading me to open a three-chair suite and start a small salon space. Embracing the role of a salon leader, I invested in coaching and began hiring employees. Through eight years of ups and downs, including navigating a global pandemic, I discovered the keys to successful salon leadership.
Today, I am proud to have trained many talented stylists who have gone on to achieve great success. I am excited to share the strategies and insights that can help you transition from beauty school to a thriving career in your first year. Join me on this journey, and let’s achieve success together!
